Jonah has had the privilege of being with his Grandpa and Grandma Nelson for the past two weeks. We were with them in Minnesota for a week. Then, they drove us back to Kentucky and stayed with us for the week. Jonah loved his time with them! Grandma played lots of games and sang songs for Jonah. Grandpa made us jump, bounce, dance, stand, and walk. Grandma and Grandpa took Jonah on walks and went to the mall. We all enjoyed an evening out for supper at Chili’s.

At home, Grandma and Grandpa tried to tackle a list of projects we had. But, not as much got done as they hoped because Jonah kept them so busy! Yet, they rearranged some furniture, lowered Jonah’s crib, hemmed his dustruffle, made kitchen hand towels, put up shelves, cleaned, and did laundry. Also, my mom and I spent some time at Goodwills looking for a dresser for Jonah’s room. We were unsuccessful at finding anything. Then, yesterday at work, I overheard a coworker talking about the Louisville Antique Mall going out of buisness. So, yesterday afternoon my mom and I headed downtown. Because of traffic, we ended up getting there only about 20 minutes before it closed. We hurried through the 5 floors of antiques and managed to find a chest of drawers in pretty good condition for a great price! It is Art Deco style, which isn’t really my thing, but it will be the perfect piece of furniture for Jonah’s room.

Giving Grandpa his Father's Day gift
We are sad that Grandma and Grandpa had to leave. Jonah was truly loving having them here. But, I think both of us are ready to get back into a “normal” routine. And, Jonah will get to see Grandma and Grandpa again in just a few weeks as they are coming down again at the end of July to take care of him while Mike is taking a class.

Grandparents are the best!
