The Name Game

Okay. We finally have a name for Baby #2, but we aren’t going to announce it just yet. We are giving you the chance to figure it out! In a later post, we will explain our reasoning for choosing the first and middle names that we did. For now, read these excerpts from Scripture (yes, they are both names from the Bible) and see if you know who they are about. Comment on our post if you have a guess.

First name: Passage #1 “The men were sent off and went down to Antioch, where they gathered the church together and delivered the letter. The people read it and were glad for its encouraging message. Judas and [This Man], who themselves were prophets, said much to encourage and strengthen the brothers.”  Passage #2 “The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and [This Man], and the magistrates ordered them to be stripped and beaten. After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully. Upon receiving such orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks. About midnight Paul and [This Man] were praying and singing hymns to God and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody’s chains came loose…The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and [This Man]. He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved – you and your household.” Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house.”

Middle name: “Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.”

Any guesses?!?
